EMERGENCE SCULPTURE

Washington DC

Status: Completed May 2010

Artist: Georgia June Goldberg
Structural Engineer: Endrestudio

In collaboration with artist Georgia June Goldberg, Endrestudio provided design and structural engineering services for this piece, which was created specifically for the American University Museum. It is the largest single installation in the museum’s sculpture garden. Consisting of white wooden rhomboids sheathed in ice-blue netting, Emergence creates a glittering glacial pavilion almost 130 feet long and 30 feet high, with which San Francisco-based artist hopes to call attention to the forceful beauty of our environment.
